SLOPING OFF... ...Christchurch and District Model Flying Club’s Magazine for August 2023 |

NEW MODELS Pictures from various sources of models new to the Club since the last Sloping Off 1. Frank’s Pumpkin Special You missed the first sight of the Pumpkin Special which I resurrected from a 25 year old wreck that Alex was throwing in the skip. Th pilot has a flickering candle inside when flying. The model has flown! 2 Paul’s Marauder This is from a discontinued Wowplanes kit and will look spectacular at Oldfield when the motors are sorted out 3 Martin’s Shackleton Maidened a couple of months ago at County, the Shackleton is, like the Ed’s Lincoln, loosely (even more loosely, I should add) based on the Ivan Pettigrew Lancaster plan and is also 120” span. To be added are contra-props and spinners The Ed’s Big Chief new Build and Mustang rebuild The former is a twice size verion of the Keil Kraft Chief, in its day a huge 63” span A2 glider. The pilot and observer from a crashed Auser AOP6 are trying the accommodation out for size. The Mustang was built in 2010 and had an arrival at Strawberry Field in 2021, writing off the wing. After a couple of years on the shelf, it’s stripping time!
