JON’S JOTTINGS, BY THE CHAIRMAN

We have had a pretty dramatic improvement in the weather in the last month or so with reasonable numbers at Oldfield.  I hope those that wanted to have been able to utilise our wonderful flying field.

The Friday evening soaring challenge (I am not allowed to call it a competition!) has commenced and the numbers attending have improved from a rather disastrous start. Well done to Brian Brockway for the organisation and to those attending and flying.

D Day remembrance activities are looming and Mike Roach is putting out the details of the club’s activities elsewhere in this issue. I may not be back from holiday in time to participate but I hope it all goes well.

On a more serious note we have had another noise complaint from a neighbour on the other side of Harpway Lane. This time to our landlord, Dan Tanner. I must reinforce to all that we must not fly anyway near the Harpway Lane boundary and certainly not with noisy EDF or pusher prop models. I have purchased a sound meter to help determine what is acceptable and what is not. This matters as we cannot afford to be evicted from our fantastic field if any more complaints are received by Dan.

All for now.
