This is Ivan with his recent “Lake Master” design at Skway Lake, Chilliwack.
*BIMBO is a Hewson-ism for “British Ivan Model Builders Organisation”. You can see Ivan’s website here and the latest Ivan’s thread on RC Groups here. Enough to say that his designs are for lightweight electric powered models, mostly of scale subjects ranging from the DH Mosquito of only 48” span to a huge Blackburn Beverley at 125”. It’s fair to say that they are builders’ models which, in the larger sizes, require time and expertise to complete. But there are much simpler planes in his list, the Druine Turbulent being a perfect example.
BIMBs have an annual meeting one weekend a year which for various reasons coincided with the Club BBQ in 2019. This seemed to be a very popular arrangement so will be in next year’s programme towards the end of July.
I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves...unless I can’t help myself.
The flag was presented by Ivan and his friend Hal on their visit to the BIMBO weekend in 2012. It’s been signed by all BIMBs to date.
