JON’S JOTTINGS, BY THE CHAIRMAN

Christchurch and District Model Flying Club is a really fantastic organisation due entirely to its members. No job or difficulty seems to phase the club and there always are volunteers to take on the work Thank you to all.

Special thanks to Mike, our Secretary, for his unstinting efforts as well the unstoppable Alex who has made Oldfield into a pretty good little airfield from a stubble patch. Praise also to Alan our Treasurer and Brian who is our Membership Secretary.

Despite the weather not being very helpful we have done a considerable amount of flying this year be that at Oldfield, Longham or on the various hill site we have access to. How many clubs have access to that variety of places to fly with relatively low costs to members?

I shall miss the search parties in the maize now that the crop has been harvested. It is weird that when flying with the six feet maize walls few landed out but now we have clear horizons the stubble seems to be magnetic to our models!

Finally, I hope everyone has a very enjoyable festive season and a Healthy and Prosperous New Year.
