Well we are finally in Meteorlogical Spring. It has been an unusual latter few weeks of Winter with low cloud and freezingly cold temperatures for week after week. I hibernated until one afternoon I persuade myself it was OK to go to Oldfield. It was a pretty strong SE wind and as I was on my own I thought I could handle it. Regrettably I was wrong as the wind blew my model off towards Harpway Lane and I was struggling to work out which way the aircraft was pointing. To avoid crossing into the no fly zone I deliberately put the model into a spiral dive and it ”landed” right by the hedge towards Mr Tanners farm. It was a long lonely walk to find a lot of pieces. Subsequently I decided to repair it – I just hope it flies as well as it looks.
It is nice to see we have hardy members who have braved the elements at Win Green and the SE Slope in the Purbecks. Also quite a good turnout at the Indoor Flying sessions at Durlston Court.
I hope everyone has taken the opportunity to enjoy the spring sunny days we are currently enjoying. I regret a tummy bug has had me tied to the toilet so I have not had a chance to get out.
Could I please reiterate that we should stick to the rule about no Sex, Politics or Religion and apply it to the club WhatsApp. As Mike has said there are plenty of avenues for these topics not associated with the CDMFC.
