Bird of Time
Clive Spencer finishes off his new Thermal Soarer

The next outing with BOT was the Rose bowl thermal comp where I was placed fifth. This was more due to the weather vagaries and poor flying on my part than to the glider. I also managed to crack the nose whilst trying for a spot landing which also precluded my entry into the Construction & Finish comp. Hey-ho, that's life. Since then I have repaired the nose and glassed the fuz back to the wing. I have also fitted a tow release and repositioned the receiver battery which has allowed me to remove 2oz of lead from the nose weight.

So there we have it, a great looking, and somewhat different competitive thermal soarer for the dedicated builder. For the future I am intending to make an electric fuz, as the wings and tail are too nice a shape to be underused. Until then I'm looking for someone with a glider tug and plenty of spare time, Steve?
