2004 Summer Thermal Series - Glider and Electric
A report on the 2003 event appears elsewhere in this newsletter. For this year, we have left the rules pretty much unchanged. Please note though that both classes will be flown on Friday evenings, the Glider class at Stanpit, the Electric Class at Kings Park.

Rules
1. Any type of model may be used appropriate to each competition and it may be changed throughout the series.
2. i) Glider - Launching will be by bungee or towline and there is no restriction on length.
ii) Electric - There will be one initial motor run of 30 seconds. In the interests of safety, the duty safety marshal may at his discretion reduce this time.
3. There is no spot landing requirement except that the model must land in the area in which it was launched.
4. All flights must take place on a Friday evening after 6pm: Glider class at Stanpit, Electric class at Kings Park.
5. Only two designated attempts may be made each Friday but any flight under two minutes may be taken again.
6. Flight maximums (in minutes) are as follows:

   Glider   Electric
 May 7 minutes 5 minutes
 June 8 minutes 6 minutes
 July 9 minutes 7 minutes
 August 10 minutes 8 minutes

Any overflying of the maximum time will be deducted.
7. Timekeeping is to be carried out by another member of the C&DMFC.
8. The sum of your best four monthly times will determine the winner in each category. In the event of a tie, a fly-off will be arranged in September.
9. A Trophy and Cup will be presented to the winners and certificates awarded to second and third placed fliers.
10. Please let me have your best times at the end of each month.
Safety must be observed at all times, especially with regard to the general public and private property. Make sure you know where the flight line is situated.
