It’s that time of year again.  Review the preceding months!

As I said last time, I’ve done less flying this year but have been involved in other activities, non aeromodelling.

Strawberry Field has had the usual problems (Wednesday Car Boots and recently a fair!)

Having bemoaned SF, we did enjoy another great Club BBQ and Fun Fly Comp. The comp was all thanks to Jon Couldridge, the food cooking by Doreen & Alex Bush along with many others. One member even helped out by bringing his own gas BBQ & gas, then set to cooking. That’s what friends are for “as the song goes”

We did have some serious problems with our ride-on tractor/mower.

Eventually new wiring harnesses were fitted at SPG Mowers, who are quite close to Strawberry Field. Luckily the weather did co-operate and the grass didn’t grow too much when the mower was out of service.

Of interest, the mower could still cut grass but the electro-mechanics associated with the grass collection system had failed.

All has been okay for a few months now!

Bransgore Village Hall has again proved its worth for our monthly meetings.

A few wags have suggested we start the Tuesday afternoon meetings again, this to do with soldering, covering and the like. The problem is finding somewhere suitable and at an affordable cost.

At a recent committee meeting we, the committee, decided to use some of our Monthly Club Meetings for this purpose. Currently the first of theses will be at the February 2020 Wednesday Club Meeting at Bransgore.

September saw our waterborne members displaying their models at the Longham Lakes Open Day. It was a resounding success. Thanks go to the few who did bring models along or lone models for display.

Youngsters were well catered for using two simulators.

I called in late in the afternoon and was very surprised by the amount of visitors still there 10 minutes before the closing time.

Well done chaps and thanks.

The first Photo Comp was held at the October Meeting and proved very popular. All agree to repeat this again in 2020. Thanks must go to Alan Butterworth for preparing everything on his computer then projecting onto our 80” screen.

The final PAIN to aeromodelling has been (and still is) the Registration being introduced by the CAA. I’m sure we all know just how well this will eliminate the presumed “Drone” problem.

Have a Merry Christmas & a bright and Happy New Year 2020.
