ELEVEN YEARS FLYING AT STRAWBERRY FIELD - SEPTEMBER 2010 TO SEPTEMBER 2021
Most of the pictures were taken by the Editor and of course there are many flying days that he missed, but here’s a taste of what was the Club’s first private flying field after nearly 50 years of using public venues like Kings Park and Stanpit for our flat field flying. We have to thank the discoverer, Terry Butterfield, the Chairman at the time, Terry Antell and his Committee and in particular Malcolm Bird, the Secretary, who arranged the planning permission.
As we move on from SF, here’s some of the highlights. The owners must have benefited by over £10,000 by our flying there but their need for increased payments has encouraged us to find a much better venue, and many thanks to Guy and Alex for getting us there, and Jon for all the negotiations to get us flying.
