UPDATE SEPTEMBER 2011

Permission was granted for us to fly on Saturday 3 September (the visit of the Canadians to the “BIMBO” weekend) and a very successful demonstration of flying boats and floatplanes was given, attended by the recreation manager and two other members of the Management Board.

Trevor and I have been invited to make a presentation to the Board in the near future, to which we will invite the BMFA Flying Site Adviser, Roger Bellingham

Keep those fingers crossed! Not when you are actually flying, of course...

It was a fairly dull day, but you can see the extent of the water. This is facing SW, so the prevailing wind is clean. The opposite bank is about 1000m away. The plane is Trevor’s Ivan Sealand 400

Our Canadian friends, Ivan Pettigrew and Hal Norrish, with BIMBO members, spectators and Sembcorp observers. The planes are L to R, OD Britten-Norman Islander on floats, Ivan’s Short Sealand and Ivan’s Twin Otter.
