Thank you to our contributors, particularly Brian Wiseman, Martyn Pressnell and Trevor Hewson. Thanks also to the inimitable Mr L Wise, whose diary is firmly grounded in fact this time.  I wonder if he has a blog, or contributes to RC Groups? I can sense some interesting discussions between him and some of the more excitable contributors, for whom there are no shades of grey. On the subject, will we ever, I wonder, have a letter from Walter, Leonard’s long-suffering mentor, or indeed from Clarissa, his equally long-suffering wife?

The various Walkford meetings were well attended: I hear there were 50 or so eager buyers at the auction, and even the AGM, normally a refuge for the terminally bored, was enlivened by 25 or so members showing a lively interest.

The negotiations for a water flying site are proceeding slowly. The problem is that East Dorset District Council gave permission for Longham Lakes to be created from the old gravel pits, but limited the activities to fishing.  Bournemouth and West Hants Water are keen to open up the new southern lake to a wider public but have to get permission for the new activities. Perhaps we will know the outcome by the next Sloping Off.
