Here’s the Ed’s 58” span S5 and Clive Spencer’s slightly smaller S6 at a recent Club evening, and the S5 almost ready for flight a month later.

Both models have had an extended build are are full of complex curves.

Clive’s is mostly balsa and ply, but the Ed’s is a good mixture of balsa and foam construction, variously covered with solartex, oracover, tissue and light glass cloth. Markings are by Tim Calvert except for the fin stripes which are solartrim. Weight comes out at about 4.5 lbs with a 3-cell 2200 battery.
