It’s with great sadness that we report the death of Martyn Presnell. He was a most accomplished modeller, amusing and erudite speaker and probably the last Club member to build and fly competition rubber-powered models. His demonstration of a fully wound (and restrained) Wakefield motor being let go at the Walkford nearly blew the back wall off the place. His talk on airships (he was an aeronautical engineer) was fascinating and his his innovative model of the HP 115 showed how an unlikely slim delta shape could be made to fly.
Goodbye Martyn—we miss you.
