Christchurch and District Model Flying Club

Christchurch & District Model Flying Club

Minutes of Annual General Meeting

Held at the Walkford Hotel 3rd December 2008

20 members attended with apologies received from S Fell, P Poll, K Young.

Secretary’s Report – During the past year the committee has held 13 committee meetings concerning the running of the Club.

Treasurers Report – Our financial position is fairly good and we have current funds of £2809.38 with Lloyds Bank.

The main items of expenditure:- Indoor flying, Sloping Off, Xmas prize draw, Dorset Federation subscription, Christchurch Sports Council contribution.

This shows an overall increase in funds of 358.95 but this does not include the £400 for the Indoor Flying sessions. So the club is in a static financial position. Therefore, I recommend an increase in Club Fees from £5 to £10 as agreed at the March 2007 AGM.

Membership Secretary’s Report – Our current membership stands at 83 members but this could change in the new year with members dropping out for various reasons, and new members joining.

Activities Secretary’s Report – The main activity this year being the Hordle Fete which we will be continuing next year and would like to see more members assisting – showing we are a part of the local community.

Webmaster/ Editor – Requested more items from members for inclusion in ‘Sloping Off’ and Website. He will re-write / edit them if you wish but please send something in.

Chairmans Report – We have had more talks etc this year especially Stuart Fell’s magic show which was enthusiastically received. Can other members give talks etc, if so contact the committee.

A full review will be published on the website.

Election of committee Officers –

The existing committee including the Webmaster/Editor were all willing to stand for re-election and with no other nominations received were re-elected on masse.

Proposer – B Brockway. Seconder – I Wettstein.

Auditors – Clive Spencer and Gordon Coy volunteered to act as auditors for 2009.

Motions – No motions were received prior to the meeting.

Membership Fees – Fees were agreed at the 2007 AGM for a 3 year period.

2009 Club membership fee is £10 (adult) and £5 for 18 years of age or younger OR full time education until 21 years of age.

Joining Fee (new members) to remain at £15 and free to Juniors etc.

Any Other Business –

Terry Sullivan reported that the new chairman for the southern area is Tony Butterworth and the meeting for 30th Jan 2009 will be held at Middle Wallop Air Museum. All normal Southern Area meetings are held at Shedfield, near Portsmouth.

Peter Poll has donated 2 planes to the club for use in training, they are a Lazy Bee and an Electric Lady.

BMFA ‘A’ Certificates - Terry Antell stated that anyone with Club certificates and still flying will get a BMFA ‘A’ certificate. Certificates and tests are progressing steadily.

Date of next AGM – Wednesday 2nd December 2009.

There being no other business the meeting closed at 20.52.
