Christchurch and District Model Flying Club

The editor’s super scooper progress

There comes a time in any model aircraft’s building  programme when nothing seems to be happening. Even if you are lucky enough to be able to spend a minimum of two hours a day in the workroom (“work” room? Ha!—Ed’s wife) the model seems to be suspended in time. For me, this lasts about 6 weeks, and usually includes a family holiday and the odd crisis or three. Then suddenly, it is time to start covering up all that lovely balsa and less lovely filler with plastic film and trim. And in a week or so, it takes life and becomes a different thing, a model with flying potential. Once the wings are covered, well, what are you waiting for?

Some pilots...the engine cowls...some paint not in stock….the lettering...glazing for the cockpit...someone to do all the wiring for me…

And then some nice weather...the Sailing Club safety boat...and then some bicycle clips!
