Dear Albatross Float

I am dreadfully sorry to have caused you harm. It was all in a futile attempt to rescue from the shipwreck and prevent your drifting across the fearsome ocean. I am pleased to hear of your safe rescue and can only hope for your speedy recovery.

Get well soon....

Here’s how it happened...Clive was flying his Grumman Albatros/Albatross when after a slightly bumpy landing one of the floats decided to...float...

After one hapless attempts at recovery by a Fun Cub, an ST Models Beaver was recruited and taxied over, getting very close but of course being too high off the water to actually do anything, other than chop off the front of the float with the propeller. You could hear the snipping noise from the shore!

All’s well that ends well. The float drifted to the shore (rather than getting stuck on Swan Island) and is now reunited with it’s model. Ed
