Christchurch and District Model Flying Club

CONSTRUCTION AND FINISH COMPETITION (THE RIPMAX SHIELD) RULES 2014

This annual competition is designed to encourage model aircraft building within the Club.

Completed models, which must have flown, must be brought to the September Wednesday meeting for judging. A maximum of two models per member (who must be the builder) may be entered. Models may have been flown by proxy. They will be assessed by two judges: the winner of the previous year’s event and an assistant. They will determine the winner of the Ripmax shield

In order that the construction element can be properly judged, models should also be brought along in unfinished state to at least one earlier meeting. This is to be arranged with either judge.

When presented at the September meeting for final judging, the model must be supported by a completed data sheet (available below and on the night). During the evening, all members present will be invited to view the models and vote for their first choice. This will determine the winner of a ‘People’s choice’ award.

An additional prize will be awarded by the judges for the best model from a member who has not previously won an award in the competition.

The winner of the shield will be asked to be the chief judge in the following year and he should appoint an assistant. All award winners will be deemed Previous Winners for subsequent years’ competitions.

Judges may not enter the competition.
