After the worst wet weather for many, many years I wonder how many will acquire a model with water flying abilities?

Our January meeting, i.e. the annual Club Quiz was the best to date. It was a shame our numbers attending were down to the mid thirties. However, Mike Roach won with his score of 43 out of a possible 50. Richard Curant had a score of 42. I admit to managing just 13!

The 32 sausages and a similar number of scampi, plus 4 large bowls of chips quelled the rumbling tums.

I’m sure your newly elected committee will continue to maintain our overall high club standards during 2014.

Indoor flying ends on Friday 28^th March but will return in September.

The Monday afternoon meetings at The Walkford have had to change to Tuesdays. The next, which is the final one for this winter, is TUESDAY 18^th March.

Stanpit Friday Night Challenge rules have been updated. A copy should be somewhere in this edition of our club magazine.

They were amended to help encourage more members to ‘have a go’ at flying a thermal glider or electric thermal glider.

Starting with the March club meeting we are introducing a FREE BITS BOX. Bring something you really don’t want and place in the box. ALL take a look to see if there is anything you may need.

Last year saw the demise of Channel 4 Models. I’m now told that Lesro Models, Christchurch will close at the end of Feb. They are going to continue trading as an on-line shop only.

That just leaves Westbourne Models (mainly a model boat shop) and Milford Models & Hobbies. This has small size premises but can order items. Open Tuesday to Saturday 10am till 5pm. They have a new web site which is for their main trade – model railways. Ring Nigel Harper on 01590 642112 for assistance.
