The 2 day Electric Masters indoor aerobatics competition was held in Barnsley last month, with competitors from the UK, Europe and even South Africa. A tough competition with some of the world's top pilots and supported by a large number of spectators who paid to view the event.
Five rounds were flown, three on Saturday and two on Sunday. I managed Second place in F3PB (my first year at this higher level) missing out narrowly on first to UK pilot Ray Watts by 10 points out of 2000..close!! Michael Blake from Ireland came third.
I also managed second place at the F3P indoor aerobatics B schedule Alfreton Competition. Another four hours gruelling drive up to Derbyshire on Friday for a three hour practice session followed by an all day competition on the Saturday. The standard and quality of flying keeps on rising, I managed second place losing out on 1st by two rounds to three against Ray Watts, a great pilot. We travel and practice together but remain serious adversaries on the day.
Alfreton is a fantastic 8 badminton court hall with an 11 metre vertical height, if only we had something like this down South on a regular basis!
Regards
Simon
