Committee Meetings – 6. (A thankful reduction on last year’s 10!) BMFA Tests – 5 members have achieved the “A” Cert in various disciplines. One more than in 2010. Christchurch Borough Council Sports Council. Attended 4 of 4 meetings. Club Events – Club quiz night at Jan meeting. Jan Free food and a free draw at meeting. Rosebowl club Thermal glider comp was held at a WSA flat field site – a great day in August. (very strong wind.) 2 slope club days out (could have enjoyed better weather!) We played a DVD about 2.4 radio systems. On another occasion Mike Roach educated us about model building, etc. Martyn Pressnell introduced us to model airships in March. Ian Lewis demonstrated his 97kg model that won “Robot Wars” in the late 1990’s at the April meeting. We also held a ‘Bring a model evening’ on another occasion. Hordle Fete. Well attended by members representing the club. Nov Club Auction. Total turnover was £308.50 changed hands – around 35 members attended
Strawberry Field, Boldre, has attracted (much - Ed) more use this year Indoor Flying sessions held at Bournemouth Uni. October cancelled at the very last minute because of a fire. Terry Antell Chairman 2011 |
