Hi folks, I have often wanted to put someone in the hot seat, so I have someone to blame! I thought I would share with you a cheap, simple way of creating someone in the office.

What you need is a digital camera, even a phone will do, a computer and a printer with some photo paper.

First you need to choose your subject, my first go was myself in an open face motorbike helmet, but you can choose anything you like, you just need a digital image of the head and shoulders. Then save this image in “Pictures”, the next stage is to open the picture editor, I think most PC computers have “Paint” this will allow you to import the image, resize it, crop it, and then save it (Photo Impact on my PC—Ed). You can also use this program to flip the image, and create left and right sides.

The next thing to do is a test print, to see how big the final result will be on paper, so you can scale it to suit your plane. I only use ordinary paper for the test. When I am happy I have got the sizing about right, I will print both images and then glue them (with UHU POR) to 3mm depron then it is easy to add your figure to the cockpit. This makes a very lightweight and fun addition to pretty much any plane.

If anyone fancies a go but is unsure of how to use the computer, just drop me an Email and I will happily help out. If there is enough interest, we could make it a demo for a winter club night.
