Thanks to the Committee for defending our right to fly at Stanpit. We don’t hear much about their activities, but this is one thing that if we lose it, we lose the Club, so keep up the good work guys.

Thanks also to the contributors to this issue, particularly the Chairman for his excellent kit review, Brian Wiseman for letting us see his bid for Dragons’ Den fame, Leonard Wise for another episode in his modelling career and finally to Clive Spencer for so faithfully wrapping up his Bubble Dancer saga.  I see from the evening thermal results that it has already made its mark in competition.

I have shamelessly pirated my friends’ emails for details of the “dummy engine” saga and as usual am astounded by the quality of Ken Spokes’s workmanship in producing such a perfect copy of a complex shape. Now all he needs is one of these loudspeaker fittings and a genuine un-silenced 2-stroke howl to set the scene…

Because of the terrible weather on 2 Sep, the C&F comp has been postponed until the October meeting. Perhaps the rules will be re-written before next year’s competition.  On the other hand—was that a flying pig I saw go past the window?

May all your crashes be little ones,

Mike
