“Never start with an apology”

Ah well...I’m afraid this issue looks a bit strange because I failed to work out how to parse a .pdf into a .doc, despite paying a fee a couple of months ago do do just that. My old scanner scanned text into text files, but this new one can only scan text into pdf, tifs or jpg. This is why some contributions look a bit strange.

On to the non-apologetic bit.

Although there were only a few entries compared with the 20 or so last year, the C&F Comp was well attended and the judging and voting system was fair and produced the best result we could have hoped for. My BUFF (see the picture above) flies wonderfully well but is not a great example of the finisher’s skill. All that solartex (£70-worth!) and hardly a drop of paint in sight. But it is big. Did I say it flies well?

Bournemouth must be very pleased with their air show. Despite the windy weather on Saturday I heard that 400,000 people attended overall and there must have been an equal number along the shore, on the Head and further afield. Quite how it makes money I’m not sure, but it is great to be on the flightpath of the BofB trio as they flew over my house both times I was there.
