GOLDEN HIND FLIES!

128

A glassy Sunday morning at Longham, and here’s 5 months-worth of model-making doing a low pass for the camera, on its third flight. The Short “Golden Hind” G-Class Empire flying boat spans 100”, weighs nearly 8 lbs, used 9 metres of Solartex and over £100 of balsa, another £100 on motors and SCs, then there’s the 1lb 12oz of ballast in the nose...mainly batteries but some lead.

Then there’s the time...say 3 hours a day (the wife would say “huh?”) for 100 days allowing time off for holidays and what have you.

And it isn’t finished, not by a long way!

But...what’s next?
