Bring a Model Evening
5 June 2013
Depron Supermarine Walrus from the Cyril Carr plan by Richard Curant (I think). Has flown but dutch rolls. Any ideas on how to prevent this?
Trevor Hewson’s Autogyro (see “funny-looking helicopters” on the next page.)
Malcolm MacKendrick’s Ripmax/Joysway Dragonfly. It’s a Polaris look-alike, costs just over £117 complete less RX and battery, and is a water/grass compatible fun model. Great videos on YouTube, and you can see the model on SMC’s site here http://www.sussex-model-centre.co.uk/shopexd.asp?id=42362
The Ed’s 50” span depron and foam DHC Twin Otter. The floats and wheeled UC are plug-in options. It will take to pieces and go in an airline carry-on box for holiday flying.
Tim Calvert’s Phoenix 2000 from Hobby King. Extra markings by Tim of course. The model is “almost indestructible” and a snip at $78
RCM&E(?) Sportex by Adam Edwards. He says it “flies very well but is very squirrely on the ground. I’d guess it could do with a fixed tailwheel.”
Here’s Tony Drogde’s depron Concorde, from a plan on the Internet. Not yet flown.
Alex Bush built this Lagg 9 from a Silen Flight free plan
Finally on the 5th, Martin Pressnell (on the right) brought along a couple of his usual immaculate rubber-powered models
